Bruce Spear started working for Kens Tree Service in 2016. He started as a ground man but right away he decided to start climbing. He is a fast learner, hard worker, reliable and honest. Just the kind of person that I like to work with. So I chose Bruce to be the person that I would train to take over the tree business after I retired. So after two years of training Ken’s Friend’s Tree Service was born.
The services that Ken’s Friend’s Tree Service offers.

Why the name Ken’s Friend’s Tree Service
When I was getting ready to retire (Ken Hawley, owner of Kens Tree Service), Bruce and I made an agreement that I would close my business and he would start his. Because I had many satisfied customers over the years Bruce wanted to keep my name in his business. So he came up with the idea of Ken’s Friend’s Tree Service. That name seemed to pay off because many customers that know both Bruce and I laugh and say that was a good idea. (Smile).
Ken retired from climbing but hasn’t retired from trees
After I turned 61 years old and having climbed trees professionally for 46 years, my body was telling me that it was time to slow down. So I finally gave up climbing. But Trees are in my blood, that’s what I’m good at. So after closing Ken’s Tree Service, I started Tree Pros of Gray Harbor County.
The purpose of Tree Pros of Grays Harbor County
The purpose of Tree Pros of Gray Harbor County is to be a hub for professional tree climbers and to offer support and training to professional tree services. Also we connect customers to tree pros that we know really are professionals. Bruce, with Ken’s Friend’s Tree Service is the first tree service to join Tree Pros of Grays Harbor County and I trained him myself.
